MILTON, N.Y.- The Mount Saint Mary College women's and men's cross country teams had strong outings on Saturday afternoon at the Knight Invite.
The women finished second out of twenty teams. The Knights' top five runners finished under 23:00 minutes. Senior
Rachel Sleeter (Hyde Park, N.Y.) led the women's team when she finished ninth overall with a time of 21:21. Sleeter was followed by sophomore
Jennifer Boyle (Monroe, N.Y.) and freshman
Brigitte Leyva (Hyde Park, N.Y.) who finished with times of 21:50 and 21:55. Rounding out the Mount's top five were seniors
Nicole Zazzero (Brewster, N.Y.) and
Tori Wresilo (Shelton, Conn.) who finished 19th and 22nd, respectively, with times of 22:32 and 22:45. The overall score for the women was 65.
The men finished sixth out of seventeen teams, with an overall score of 173. The Knights had four runners finish in under 33 minutes. Freshman Adam Al-Harazeih (Pine Bush, N.Y.) and senior
Ian Brink (Walkill, N.Y.) both finished with a time of 31:12 and finished 25th and 26th overall. Freshman Chris Delvecchio (North Haven, Conn.) and senior
Scott Colello (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) rounded out the Knights top runners with times of 31:20 and 32:19.
The Knights return to action on Sunday, October 20, when they run at the York College Invitational in Jamaica, N.Y. Race time is set for 10:00 am.
