SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Mount Saint Mary College cross country teams fared well at the Western New England Golden Bears Invitational, as the men's team finished sixth out of 18 teams, and the women placed ninth out of 22.
Sophomore
Adam Al-Haraizeh (Pine Bush, N.Y.) was the top finisher for the Knights, placing 18th overall out of 180 competitors with an 8K time of 28:22.52. Close behind were freshman
Joseph Moschetto (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and sophomore
Chris DelVecchio (North Haven, Conn.) who took 20th and 21st with times of 28:25.06 and 28:27.91, respectively.
For the women,
Brigitte Leyva (Hyde Park, N.Y.) took the Knights' top spot with a 5K time of 20:35.25 to take 15th out of 210. Junior
Jennifer Boyle (Monroe, N.Y.) was the next Knight to finish, taking 59th place at 22:06.50. Junior
Amber Stevens (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) ran a strong race to finish 71st at 22:32.44.
The Knights' next race will take place on Sunday, Oct. 26, as they host the Skyline Conference Championships at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome in Milton, N.Y. The women's race will begin at 12 p.m., while the men will get started at 1 p.m.
