NEWBURGH, N.Y.
– Freshman Nick Findlay (Elmont, N.Y.) scored three goals and recorded an assist as Mount Saint Mary College fell to Farmingdale State College, 24-5, on Saturday. The Knights dropped to 1-5 overall, while the Rams improved to 6-3.

Findlay staked the Mount to a 2-0 lead with a pair of goals in the opening minutes. The freshman put home a feed from freshman Nick Sheehan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) at the 13:44 mark and then scored a man-up goal with 12:46 to play in the first quarter.

Farmingdale responded with the next four goals, including back-to-back tallies from sophomore Erick Thomson (Floral Park, N.Y.). Findlay cut the deficit to one with his third goal of the first quarter, but the Rams answered with two more goals to claim a 6-3 advantage after one.

The teams traded goals to open the second quarter, but the Rams closed the half on a 7-1 run to lead 14-5 at the break. Farmingdale blanked the Knights in the second half and cruised to a 24-5 win.

In addition to the trio of goals by Findlay, senior Joe Costello (Geneva, N.Y.) and freshman Andrew Pullen (Farmingdale, N.Y.) found the back of the net for the Mount.

Thomson led the Rams with six goals. Junior Wes Hubschmitt (Seaford, N.Y.) scored two goals and added five helpers, while senior Sean Maxwell (West Babylon, N.Y.) scored three times. Twelve different players scored for Farmingdale on the afternoon.
