The Mount Saint Mary freshman held her own, eventually falling, 6-4, 6-3.

In doubles action, Murphy-Goldberg and freshman Emily Gregory (Albertson, N.Y.) were bounced in the first round by the eighth seeded team from Skidmore College (8-6). Dropped to the consolation bracket, the Mount duo held on for an 8-5 victory over Sage, an eventual opponent inside the Skyline Conference. Trailing 7-5 in the next round, they had to retire during a match with St. Lawrence due to injury.
