NEWBURGH, NY – Continuing their undefeated run through the 2009 season, the Mount Saint Mary College women's tennis team won a pair of matches this weekend, ousting the Polytechnic Institute of NYU and City College of New York. The Blue Knights improved to 11-0 overall and to 4-0 inside the Skyline Conference.

Gabriela Murphy-Goldberg (Newburgh, N.Y.) teamed with sophomore
Annmarie Llewellyn (Brookhaven, N.Y.) for an 8-2 victory at first doubles. At second doubles, senior
Caitlin Giordano (Walden, N.Y.) and junior
Rebecca Schwartz (New Windsor, N.Y.) were 8-0 winners, as were
Emily Gregory (Albertson, N.Y.) and Jennifer Gregory (Albertson, N.Y.) at third doubles.
Freshman
Linnea Mowat (Cornwall, N.Y.) pitched a shutout at third singles, capturing her match, 6-0, 6-0. Jennifer Gregory and
Emily Gregory didn't allow their opponents a single game at fifth and sixth singles, respectively.
On Sunday, the Blue Knights crushed CCNY, allowing just two total games in nine matches. Freshman
Jackie Ivan (Binghamton, N.Y.) teamed with Mowat at third doubles to win, 8-0. It was the first collegiate match and victory for Ivan.
Up next for the Mount is a conference date with Purchase College. The Blue Knights will travel to the Panthers on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m.
